Holly Roe, MBA, Interim Executive Director & Program Director

Holly Roe has been involved with helping the underserved population for over 20 years as a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, building tutoring programs for Building Hope in the City from 2000-2012 and managing GED programs for the Sandra Sullivan Adult Learning Centers.  She started her own nonprofit, The LD Edge Network in 2015 which helped mostly impoverished adults with specific learning disabilities. This is still open today.  In 2021, she became involved with Radical Hospitality when they needed a shelter for the winter season and Trinity offered their space.  She continued on as a board member and is currently working as interim Executive Director.  Holly has a masters degree in International Business from Baldwin-Wallace University, and a certificate in Nonprofit Management from UCLA.  Her day job is as a commercial insurance agent.   She has three grown children and many granddogs.

Paul Sherlock, Board President

Paul has been working on a volunteer basis in the homeless community for more than two decades.  Over 15 years of outreach, 11 years of being on the board of two overnight hospitality groups, Metanoia where I served for 7 seven years, with 41/2 of those years as board president.  Currently he is a Board member for Radical Hospitality as well as Neighborhood Pets which serves the community below the poverty line in assisting with pet well being care. Paul has been an advocate for the homeless community at both the city and county level.  He has been a strong advocate for the environment having spent more than a month in Standing Rock North Dakota, protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline. He also participated for a month in the Great March for Climate Action, which was a cross country March to raise awareness about climate change. Paul lives on Cleveland’s near west side, where I am fond of the many social services this community provides. His heroes are his Mom, Dad, his late wife Donna, and George Hrbek.

Jim Schlect

Jim joined NEOCH as a Street Outreach Worker in 2020. He has been involved in working and volunteering with a number of agencies and organizations serving those suffering from poverty and homelessness in Cleveland. During his long career of service to the community, Jim has worked at the Rose Mary Center, the West Side Community House, the West Side Catholic Center, and Care Alliance. A resident of the near West Side for the last 48 years, Jim has spent much of that time serving the community he calls home.

Lauren Feighan

Lauren Feighan is a podcast producer specializing in health and wellness, marketing, and AI-focused content. She is deeply passionate about the intersection of the arts, communication, and health and wellness—and how they can work together to foster more connected, resilient communities. She previously worked at Columbia University’s Office of Government & Community Affairs, where she focused on community initiatives and public partnerships. Lauren serves on the board of Radical Hospitality and the Kentucky Gardens Community Garden steering committee. She is also a member of the 2025 & 2026 Neighborhood Connections grant-making committee. Lauren also organizes an annual free summer concert series in Kentucky Gardens to promote neighborhood connection and outdoor gathering, and she is a partner in re: COLLECTION, a vintage and designer clothing resale business featured in several local shops.

Mary Ellen Jordan

Mary Ellen Jordan, LISW has been working in the field of social work for over 25 years. Throughout her career she has gravitated toward working with vulnerable populations. She has extensive experience in the field of death & dying, hospice care and grief work. Additionally Mary Ellen spent several years as a case manager at a men’s homeless shelter in Cleveland where she worked to guide the men from crisis to stability. 

After living and working in San Francisco and Washington DC, Mary Ellen has called Cleveland home for the past two decades. She raised her 4 children in Cleveland, and currently resides in Ohio City with her husband and their 3 cats.
